The Neumann U 87 Ai and TLM 67 sound very similar except the TLM 67 sounds flatter in the treble and therefore less nasally. The Neumann U 87 Ai is brighter and more articulate as shown on the frequency response which some people may like and find pleasing. The TLM 67 sounds a little more neutral and less nasally. I rarely look at third party measurements but I may start doing it in some cases. Although I think they're both cool. I prefer The Bright more open clear tonality of the Neumann TLM 103. TLM 103 is cheaper with lower self noise without all the trimmings as well which is nice.

The Neumann TLM 103 is the most optimum of any microphone in the world for spoken word. It is basically my target for spoken word.

Now I know what some of you goofballs are thinking. This microphone is not flat so therefore too bright. Well we go hard around here. We flatter and optimize the sound to be as pleasing as possible, from V-Shaped fun headphones, to heavily presence boosted microphones to fully optimize and flatter the source. The Neuman U 47 is unanimously the best sounding vocal singing microphone that all companies try to replicate. Guess what? It's my target for singing vocal microphones. Endgame exists my boys. The treble shelf is a modern way of emphasizing a bright, open clear, and transparent musical flattering sound.

The Neumann TLM 103 also sports ultra low 7dBa self noise and high sensitivity.
