The main difference between the 3Dio FS XLR and FS Pro II is the microphone capsules used. Funnily enough, the cheaper capsules in the 3Dio FS XLR which are called Primo EM172 have lower self noise and a good enough frequency response for ASMR. It's the better option by far:



There is no need to get the FS Pro II with its much more expensive small microphone DPA 4060 CORE hi-sensitivity capsules:

Since these microphones are used for ASMR which is close ear whispering and rubbing, the overall tone is not as important as a voice over studio microphone. This is mainly for the special effects of binaural with the ears and in that regard 3Dio FS XLR is best. The 3.5mm connection with built in phantom power shouldn't be used as that connection has higher self noise. Use the XLR.
