The RTINGS Target has a 5dB bass boost starting at 200Hz, an ear gain scoop around 2-3kHz, and lumpy diffuse field level treble extension. Seems like it may be custom to their measuring rig or something. I think their target is reasonable. Maybe flawed in some ways.

I don't think anyone should be using their target outside of their website. So with that said, I actually used their measurements in the past to make purchasing decisions. For example, I bought the Sennheiser CX 400BT True Wireless and they sounded exactly like their measurement. Sharp peaky treble spikes, huge scoop in the upper mids and bloated warm muddy bass.

It also helped me compare and see that the Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 2 measured the same, just costs more. Their website is very useful comparing IEMs in this way.

Their website is also what got me to buy the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro.

They showed the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro having a V-shaped tuning and bright sparkly treble that I was looking for. So all in all this website is what helped me find the endgame for true wireless ear buds.
