All of these Hifiman headphones sound about the same but let's go ahead and look at all of them:
Let's start with the HIFIMAN Arya Stealth Magnet Version. It has some peaks and cuts in the treble coloring the sound. The bass is flat analytical and lifeless. Eargain scoop is improper at 1kHz and above so everything above 1kHz is colored.
The HIFIMAN Ananda Stealth tries hard to be good but there's cuts and peaks in the highs. Upper mids is improper with 2kHz eargain scoop and 4kHz prominence. Oh well... They tried.
The HIFIMAN HE1000 Stealth Magnet is basically the HIFIMAN Ananda Stealth except with a slightly different upper mids lumpy tone coloration problem.
HIFIMAN Edition XS was requested to be added as well. It seems to also measure very similarly to the HIFIMAN HE1000 Stealth Magnet and Ananda Stealth. Maybe slightly smoother and transparent in the upper mids among a few other slight differences. But about the same and redundant.
1 to 4kHz sounds like lumpy colored crap on the HIFIMAN Edition XS which is on most of these.
The Hifiman HE400SE and Hifiman Sundara are very similar. Only real difference is the Sundara has improved upper mids eargain scoop. Both peak out at 5kHz and have dark treble.
Basically all of these headphones are very similar. Two are darker than the others but besides that just a bit of funk tonality differences between them all. I wouldn't buy any. They definitely have a house sound though.
