Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro X

The Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro X is basically a cross between the DT 900 Pro X and DT 880 with worn pads when it comes to sound. It only looks like a DT 990 Pro. We can see with the graphs below that the new Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro X is less bright and less bassy than the DT 990 Pro.

Once the pads wear in on the DT 990 Pro, we can see who the clear winner is when it comes to tuning and overall frequency response smoothness:

We can see that the Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro X sound similar to the DT 880 with worn pads however the 6kHz peak is even worse now on the Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro X:

When up against the DT 900 Pro X we can see that the Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro X have weaker bass emphasis but at least no longer have the 4kHz cut problem:
